iPhone Photography: Real Estate

So you have a new listing and you can’t wait to share it, but you don’t have professional photos yet. Or you have great photos, but you want to showcase other details of the home. When you’re not a photographer, taking photos can feel like a daunting task—especially when it’s for your business—but it doesn’t have to be difficult! With a few simple tips, you can take great iPhone photos of any property you’ve got for sale.

Use natural light

Try to take your photos when the rooms are full of natural light. When you use flash, it can wash out a photo. Natural light provides warmth and makes the space feel cozy, even if it’s unfurnished! (To get the best shot of the space, use the HDR feature—available on iPhone 11 and later.)

Get a tripod

You will take better photos if you have a tripod. It doesn’t need to be an expensive one—there are plenty online for around $10. A tripod will help keep your phone steady so your photos come out crisper and clearer.

Pay attention to composition

Make sure your phone is not angled when you’re taking photos. Vertical lines like doorways and columns should be straight in your image. Depending on the height of objects in the room, your photos should be taken from chest or hip height.
