What Are Content Buckets?

When we are creating a social strategy for our clients, we develop content buckets. These buckets—or categories—each have a different purpose, but together they all work towards the goals of our clients. Content buckets are useful because they help you develop content, and they make your content more purposeful. Here are a few examples of content buckets that we use for our clients!

Education: This is content that teaches something, and it helps to brand yourself as an expert in your industry. For example—if you have a clean beauty brand, you might share a carousel explaining three ingredients that are harmful for your skin.

Inspiration: This is content that makes your audience feel motivated. This helps your followers connect positive emotions with your business. An easy way to do this is by sharing impactful quotes.

Promotion: This is content that drives sales. It can be sharing a new product or service, or promoting a sale or discount.

Conversation: This is content that engages your audience through questions. It’s important to interact with your audience, and people love sharing their opinions! For example—if you own a coffee shop, you could say “We’re making a new playlist for the shop! What songs should we add?”

Relation: This is behind-the-scenes content. Sharing a peek of your personal life helps followers connect with your business! Share your pet’s adoption day, a photo of your family during the holidays, or anything that lets people get to know the person behind the business.

These are just a few of the many content buckets we use across clients. Each business has slightly different buckets depending on their goals and needs. Nailing down these categories helps us create content that is smart, efficient, and fun—exactly the way social media should be! If you need help developing your social strategy, set up a consultation with us! We’d love to help you level up your content.
